Most home and office UPS units use sealed lead-acid batteries of 12V in 7Ah, 9Ah, 12Ah or 18Ah. If your UPS runs for a much shorter time than before or beeps a battery warning, it is probably time to replace the battery.
What do 12V and 9Ah mean?
12V is the voltage and 9Ah is the capacity: a 9Ah battery stores more energy than a 7Ah battery of the same voltage, so it can run the UPS longer if it fits.
How to choose the right replacement
- Read the label of the old battery and match the voltage and capacity.
- Match the physical size and the terminal type and position.
- Replace all batteries in a UPS together; do not mix old and new.
- Check how many batteries your UPS uses (one, two or more in series).
What affects the price
The price depends on the capacity (Ah), the brand, the warranty and availability. See the price on each product page. LONG batteries are sold in Iraq through Dar Al-Nashir, the exclusive LONG distributor, and GeTX batteries through the exclusive GeTX distributor.
How long does a UPS battery last?
Sealed lead-acid UPS batteries commonly last about two to five years depending on use and temperature; hot rooms shorten their life.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use a 9Ah battery instead of a 7Ah?
Often yes if the size and terminals fit your UPS, and it gives longer runtime. Check the dimensions first.
How do I know if the UPS battery needs replacing?
The runtime is much shorter than before, the UPS shows a battery warning, or the battery is swollen.
Should I replace all the batteries together?
Yes. Mixing old and new batteries reduces performance and lifetime.
